Collin Finnan is a Ph.D. student in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences department at UC Berkeley, working under the supervision of Professor Tsu-Jae King Liu. He received his Bachelors degree in electrical engineering in 2023 from the University of Notre Dame, where he studied novel nanoantenna infrared detectors.
Research
Collin’s research interests include novel non-volatile memory technologies and low-power electronic devices. He is currently working on nanoelectromechanical (NEM) switches implemented using the copper interconnect layers in the back-end-of-line (BEOL) stack of a standard CMOS process. Ongoing research includes lowering the operating voltage of NEM switches to be compatible with core IC voltages and application of switches into energy-efficient hybrid CMOS-NEM circuits.
