Dr. Junghyeon Hwang is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, where he joined Professor Sayeef Salahuddin’s group in 2025. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2025.
Research
Junghyeon’s research focuses on hafnia-based ferroelectric devices and ultra-scaled memory technologies for energy-efficient computing applications. His current work at UC Berkeley explores domain switching dynamics, and reliability physics in highly scaled ferroelectric devices. He is currently investigating engineered ferroelectric heterostructures and high-endurance ferroelectric memory operation for next-generation low-power and high-density computing systems.
