Mingxuan Cai is a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley, working under the supervision of Prof. Laura Waller. He began his graduate studies in 2022, after earning a B.S. in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University. His recent research focuses on computational imaging, with applications in phase imaging, computational fluorescence imaging, and super-resolution microscopy.
Research
Traditional imaging techniques often rely on static, aberration-free conditions, making it difficult to process complex spatiotemporal scenes that involve internal aberrations. His research focuses on developing advanced computational imaging techniques, utilizing implicit neural representations and neuromorphic imaging sensors to model spatiotemporal relationships. Additionally, his work aims to mitigate aberrations originating from both the system and the objects.
