Niccolo Fiaschi is a postdoctoral fellow in electrical engineering and computer science at UC Berkeley in the group of Prof. Alp Sipahigil, with a joint appointment in the Accelerator Technology and Applied Physics lab of Thomas Schenkel at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Delft, working in the lab of Simon Groeblacher.
Research
Niccolo Fiaschi’s focus in research has been always driven by the realization of the quantum internet, with a particular interest in nanophotonics. During the Ph.D. he used optomechanical devices to perform proof of principle experiments in quantum teleportation and in routing quantum information on chip. At UC Berkeley he is using color centers in silicon to create a suitable platforms for quantum repeaters.
