Zoe is a PhD student at University of California Berkeley, co-advised by Professor Chris Dames in the Mechanical Engineering Department and Dr. Sumanjeet Kaur in Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 2023, and was previously a visiting scholar in TU Dresden in Germany under the Chair of Refrigeration. She is also an incoming intern at TSMC, where she will work on semiconductor thermal metrology techniques.
Research
Zoe’s research focuses on developing thermal metrology techniques for challenging environments such as buried interfaces with electrochemical reactions, heat and ion transport resistance, and nanoscale spatial resolution requirements. She is currently collaborating with TSMC to develop industry-applicable thermal imaging techniques using scanning electron microscopy. Her other work includes spatial mapping of heat generation and electrochemical impedance in solid state batteries.
