Dr. Yuting Cai is a postdoctoral fellow in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2021, after which he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship. Since Jan 2024, he has been a member of the Ana Claudia Arias research group at UC Berkeley.
Research
Dr. Cai’s research focuses on wearable electronics for healthcare applications and functional biomaterials. He is proficient in the synthesis of various hydrogel, nanoparticles and 2D materials. He specializes in developing multifunctional composite materials and applying them to complex disease diagnosis and treatment. Currently, He is working on smart contact lenses for ERG and glaucoma therapy and printed potentiometric sensors. He is experimenting with inkjet printing to create microelectronic structures on flexible surfaces for next-generation implanted devices.
