Nithila Poongovan is an undergraduate studying Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Business Administration through the UC Berkelely Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology program. Her research interests lie at the intersection of Machine Learning and Robotics, particularly in the areas of control, dynamics, and reinforcement learning.
Research
Nithila is working with Ph.D. candidates Payton Goodrich and Carol Baumbauer on their novel biodegradable nitrate sensors for precision agriculture. Within the project, she is developing neural networks to approach a data interference problem in multianalyte sensor arrays. Additionally, she helps fabricate, test, and collect data from these delicate sensors within a wet lab.
